In 2016, Jennifer Akin and her husband Chad came to visit some friends in the Lake Oconee area for a weekend and have called it home ever since! That weekend they fell in love with the community, the beauty of the lake, the Lake Country way of life and the people. They bought a house that very weekend and have been thankful to be here at the lake ever since!
Jennifer Akin is a Michigan native with 33 years of service in both active duty military (Air Force) and later with the Department of Defense. While on active duty Jennifer was stationed in Utah, Hawaii and Tennessee. She recently retired from the Department of Defense as a program and financial manager for the Small Business Innovative Research program under the Department of the Army. Jennifer also had various roles during her time as an Air Force service member supporting Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom as a Medical Logistician, to managing various programs for the Army, such as Ground Combat Systems, Cyber Center of Excellence Training Campus Development, Department of Public Works, Foreign Military Sales and the SBIR/STTR program.
Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree in business administration while serving and also has volunteered to support and assist spouses of deployed service members and wounded warriors. Jennifer has had a long, high-achieving career dedicated to serving others as well as serving her country.
Over the past 12 years, Jennifer and her husband have personally transacted over $20 million dollars in real estate through various endeavors. Whether for investment or personal use, Jennifer has gained extensive insight and appreciation for what it takes to be successful in the real estate market. Jennifer has lived in the Lake Oconee area with her husband, 5 children, granddaughter and a fur baby for the past 10 years. When not involved in real estate, Jennifer’s favorite hobbies and events include spending time with family and friends, walking her Weimaraner, boating, relaxing in the mountains, attending wine events, traveling and relaxing at a spa. She enjoys authentic country cooking, BBQs, and NASCAR races, which ironically is how she met her husband! Jennifer has a passion for interior design. She also has a strong work ethic with high integrity and core values. She enjoys helping others and is excited about the opportunity to help buyers and sellers in this beautiful Lake Oconee community.
